Community Seeks Answers In Wake Of Deadly School Shooting

Come out and join Cleary University as they light up the spirit of the festive season on Thursday, December 2nd from 6-8pm on their campus; 3750 Cleary Drive, Howell, MI. The Cleary University Holiday Tree Lighting is FREE of charge. All they ask is that attendees donate a new pair of youth pajamas to support their 2021 Jamar's Jammies campaign for underserved youth throughout our region. From 6pm to 7:30, there will be Youth Elf-in-Training Course at Lake Trust Stadium, Festive Treats and a Holiday Photo Booth. Then at 7:45pm, take part in the Holiday Tree Lighting with Carols by the "Voices of Voyager" Elementary Youth Choir.

Cleary University is pleased to announce the launch of Jamar's Jammies 2021, and encourage you to join them for theIr Holiday Tree Lighting Event this year! The goal of Jamar’s Jammies is to provide new pajamas to underserved youth and bring a smile and warmth to a child this holiday season. Since 2018, Jamar's Jammies has donated nearly 2,000 pairs of pajamas! They are collecting new youth pajamas sizes 3T-XL. Donations will be collected through Friday, December 3, 2021. A Pajama Drop Box is located in each building on the campus of Cleary University during regular business hours and every Detroit Police Department Precinct throughout Detroit. The 15th Annual Dashing Through the Snow and Fire 5K is back! Come to downtown Fowlerville for the family fun 5K Race in downtown Fowlerville during Christmas in the Ville. There are hot air balloons at the start/finish line and on the course. The race starts at 3pm and all finishers will get a finishing medal. Sat Dec 4 Unused Medication and Needles Disposal

The Big Red Barrel Project will be at Recycle Livingston on December 4th from 9 am to 1 pm to collect unused medications and used needles (sharps). Recycle Livingston is located at 170 Catrell Street in Howell. Please place medications in ziplock bag, pills can be mixed. Liquids should be emptied into a ziplock bag with enough paper towel to soak up the liquid. Liquids should be kept separate. Needles should be put in proper disposal case (purchased from pharmacy) or into an empty plastic laundry detergent bottle with top taped on. Do your share to keep our community safe and our environment clean.

The Brighton School of Ballet returns to the stage to celebrate their 35th anniversary of performing the holiday classic, “Nutcracker.” Performances will take place Saturday and Sunday, December 4th and 5th at 2pm at the Brighton Center for the Performing Arts. The production, complete with dazzling scenery and costumes, features more than 110 local dancers, supporting cast members, gymnasts, and professional guest artists from Puerto Rico. The Livingston County Concert Band, under the direction of Dale Marzewski, will present its concert, Home for the Holidays, at 3:00 pm on Sunday, December 5th at the Rod Bushey Performing Arts Center, Howell High School, 1200 West Grand River Ave., Howell. In this road rally style event, teams will compete for the elusive Yeti Trophy, amazing prizes, and supreme bragging rights.
