Pinckney’s fifth season of Food Truck Fridays is upon us. Rick Beaudin, chairman of the Pinckney Putnam Hamburg Hell Chamber of Commerce, told WHMI's Morning Drive with Chuck and Madison they have 14 trucks lined up for the first installment.
“Some of the interesting ones this year, we’ve got one called the Kluck Truck. The Bavarian Inn in Frankenmuth, people have driven up there just for the chicken, now they can drive to Pinckney Friday and get Frankenmuth chicken.”
Other trucks include Mr. Italy, 734 and More, Amaya’s, LaRotisserie, The Food Bandit, Poppos Barbecue, Grand Traverse Pie, Mrs. C’s Grilled Cheese, Pappa’s Noodz, Detroit’s Original Seafood Truck, Tony’s Dogs, Hallboy BBQ and Harvest Kettle Corn.
The monthly summertime event also features live music and plenty of kids’ activities.
“For Kids’ Sake Learning Center, Julie Amy is putting on all kinds of kids’ activities in the street. We’ve got M-36 closed off, so she’ll be doing that,” says Beaudin.
He says three of their ‘famous’ Foam Parties are scheduled Friday too – 1:45 pm, 4:45 pm and 6:45 pm.
“We have a big foam machine. Everybody remembers Mr. Bubble in your bathtub? Picture that in an area of about 30 feet by 30 feet and about four feet deep.”
Pinckney’s Food Truck Fridays run from noon until 8pm in the Town Square. The band Itchacoo Park will start around 5 pm.
