Hartland is atop the AP girls basketball rankings again this week.

The undefeated Eagles drew three of the five first-place votes in the weekly poll. Hartland leads East Lansing by three points. Brighton, which was No. 8 last week, fell out of the poll after Friday’s loss at Howell. In Division 2, Williamston fell out of the top 10, while in Division 3, Byron moved up to No. 3 this week. In the boys poll, Williamston slipped to second in Division 2, edged out this week by Grand Rapids Christian. The Hornets, meanwhile, rolled past Flint Powers 64-47 on Monday.

On the court tonight, the Howell boys travel to Salem, Hartland is home against Canton, Brighton plays host to Novi , with the girls games at the visiting schools. In more boys action, Pinckney is home against Ann Arbor Richard and Charyl Stockwell entertains Bloomfield Hills Roeper.

In hockey last night, Brighton gave up three goals in the first period in a 5-1 loss to U-D Jesuit at the Kensington Valley Ice House. The game was a makeup contest from January 11.
