Miranda Richardson-News

My love for news started inside a broom closet-turned-studio at Kearsley High School in Flint. That’s where I learned how to interview, write, edit, report and produce.

After graduating from CMU and reporting for WEYI and WWTV, I started announcing at Michigan Baseball games in Ann Arbor until joining the Detroit Pistons organization for five seasons. I was also touring the auto show circuit at the time as a Honda presenter and product specialist. I’ve spent time on film, print and commercial sets—but my passion for news has never faded. My first time on a film set was actually in Livingston County shooting a Lifetime movie called “A Christmas Winter Song” starring Ashanti and Stan Shaw.

In 2023, I started producing again at WJRT until kicking off a career in radio at WWJ—taking home an Edward R. Murrow award in 2025 for breaking news coverage. When I’m not chasing down news, there’s a good chance I’m at a concert, at the beach soaking up sun in Caseville or spending time in Flint with my niece and four nephews.
