LIVONIA, Mich. — A 46-year-old suburban Detroit woman faces a disturbing the peace charge after a videotaped encounter with a shopper who was blocked from leaving a grocery store parking lot. The Wayne County prosecutor’s office says Thursday that Paula Gearin of Livonia faces arraignment in 16th District Court. Prosecutors say the June 13 incident in Livonia, west of Detroit, followed an argument inside the store between Gearin and a 43-year-old woman. The 43-year-old women left the store and loaded groceries into her vehicle when Gearin allegedly stood behind her, preventing the vehicle from leaving. The 43-year-old woman recorded the incident on cellphone video and filed a police report after officers arrived.
