A luxury $9.1 million yacht sank into the waters of the Mediterranean Sea Tuesday, just days after it had been delivered to its new owner.
The Angiola II was off the coast of Porto Cervo on the popular Italian island of Sardinia with 14 guests on board when it experienced engine failure that sparked a fire, the New York Post Costa Smeralda, or Emerald Coast, the news report states.
The boat will be kept under surveillance until a recovery company recovers it from the sea floor.
The yacht can reportedly accommodate 10 guests and is fitted with five cabins and five crew members.
It has four engines and can reach speeds of 28 knots.
