The City of Wixom is preparing to host its first Family Fun Night and Summer Concert of the season. Every Thursday night, through August, there will be family-friendly activities ahead of live music at Sibley Park off Pontiac Trail.

“Family Fun Night is a free activity from 6 pm until 7:30 pm. Every single week we have a different theme. For example, we have our video gaming and craft night this week. We also have super hero night. We have touch-a-truck night, just to name a few,” says Kathy Venegas, recreation supervisor with Wixom’s Parks and Recreation Department.

“Kids of all ages can come out. We have inflatables. We have food trucks for everybody. Sometimes we do some giveaways.”

Then there’s live music to follow at 7 pm each Thursday.

“This Thursday we have Sinjon Smith. They’re new to Wixom this year, a pop variety band,” said Venegas. “We have everything from classic rock to 80s tribute bands, to 90s hits. Some rock, country and even blues too.”
