Waterford Police report a man called 911 around 3:41 pm to say he had stabbed his fiancé.

Officers responded to a home on Hackett Street in Waterford Township. They encountered the caller, a 25-year-old, as he exited the home and he was taken into custody.

Acording to a release, officers entered the home and found a 33-year-old female inside. Waterford Regional Fire also responded to render aid to the victim. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The male suspect was transported to Waterford Police Headquarters, booked, and then lodged at the Oakland County jail. Detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence and the scene was processed with the assistance of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives will continue to gather facts and evidence in this case, all of which will be presented to the Oakland County Prosecutors Office for their review and consideration of criminal charges.
