We're just a couple days away from one of the more popular summer festivals in the WHMI listening area. The Hamburg Family Fun Fest kicks off Wednesday afternoon.

"All the entertainment we bring in and offer on-site is all free of charge," organizer Joanna Hardesty told WHMI's Morning Drive with Chuck and Madison. "We charge a $5 parking fee, per car, which has been the same for 19 years. The idea is to make it a fun place to come, and affordable."

Hardesty says they routinely search for new attractions and entertainment to freshen up the festival each year.

"This year we have pro wrestling," she said. "And we have a couple of local 'celebrities' that are going to get in that ring with those wrestlers for a show on Saturday night. It's going to be fun and exciting."

Other attractions include The Human Cannonball, Lego brick station, archery, cornhole tournament, bike giveaways, carnival games, strolling characters and car show.

The annual fireworks and laser show is both Friday and Saturday nights.

Hamburg Family Fun Fest opens at 4pm Wednesday, and runs through Sunday off Merrill Road in Whitmore Lake.

Pre-sale unlimited rides arm bands are available for $25 through 11:59 pm Tuesday.
