Those warrants were served at approximately 1:30pm.
The Livingston County Sheriff's Office says the search warrants were in connection with an ongoing fraud/weapons/drug case that the Livingston County Sheriff's Office Detective Bureau and the City of Howell Police Department have been investigating.
A suspect was identified and the search warrants were conducted on places that suspect was associated with.
The Livingston County Regional Swat Team was used to conduct one search warrant due to intelligence gathered that there may have been weapons in the residence. The Detective Bureau conducted the second search warrant to recover evidence referenced in the above case.

The Office stressed there was no threat to the public at any time, and the use of the SWAT team was precautionary to ensure the safety of the occupants in the residence and the officers on scene.

An active police situation was reported Friday afternoon in the City of Howell.
Police and tactical teams were surrounding a home off North Street around 3pm.
The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office did confirm that there was an active situation but no other information was released.
Sheriff Mike Murphy told WHMI it is an ongoing investigation.
There is no threat to public safety.
One neighbor/witness told WHMI on scene she was working in her office, heard the commotion and came outside. She said police were repeating themselves on a loud speaker that there was a search warrant and telling people inside to come out – which went on for a while. The woman said three elderly people and another woman were eventually brought outside. It’s unclear if anyone was taken in custody. The woman further speculated involved drug activity.
