Oakland County Sheriff's Office reports a White Lake man was killed while riding a minibike Saturday afternoon.

According to a release, 46-year-old Terrance Fulgenzi was riding the minibike when it left the roadway for an unknown reason, struck a utility pole, throwing the rider from the minibike. He was not wearing a helmet.

Fulgenzi was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

It happened about 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the area of North Cass Avenue and Cesar E. Chavez Avenue in Pontiac.

Witnesses told Oakland County Sheriff’s Office deputies that Fulgenzi and six others were operating minibikes on the roadway while weaving in and out of traffic.

Crash investigators said the victim’s minibike was not registered with the Secretary of State or legal to be driven on the road.

The incident remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit.
