One year after purchasing LACASA’s former building for $1.5 million, Livingston County Catholic Charities has moved into its new home at 2895 W. Grand River on the west end of Howell.
Executive director Adam Perry says it brings all of their programs under one roof to meet the growing need within Livingston County. He expects they’ll serve about 4,100 residents this year – up from about 3,800 in 2024.
“All of our programs got expansions in the sense of extra office space and extra storage,” he told WHMI News. “We’ve got a large green space in the back to be able to do group therapy outside, along with our adult day programming.”
Perry said its all about adding and expanding without having to shift services to an off-site location.
“Senior case management aide, in the sense of helping with Medicare benefits, home heating tax credits. Partnered with that is our elder abuse program. So, educating people on those types of issues. Scams have been the most popular in that arena most recently.”
“Then we have our volunteer caregiver program, which is volunteers that go into the community and take them to medical appointment, taking them to the grocery store, or even picking up from Gleaners and taking it to their home,” Perry added.
