Lucas Wiktorowski was awarded the 2025 Larry Lawrence Memorial Scholarship.

Wiktorowski, a 2022 Brighton High School graduate, just finished his first year of a four-year program at Southeast Michigan Construction Academy to become a licensed electrician. He played lacrosse and hockey in high school before joining the Metro Jets at the Mount Clemens Ice Arena for two years. He currently works for JL Home Installation.

The Larry Lawrence Memorial Scholarship Fund was started by the Brighton Area Historical Society to honor the memory of Lawrence, who passed away in 2019. Lawrence was a 1964 graduate of the Brighton Area High School and served as a director and director emeritus of the BAHS. Nine scholarships have been awarded to Brighton area students who attend a trade or vocation school after graduation.

According to the announcement, Wiktorowski chose Southeast Michigan Construction Academy because “they have the program that I am interested in and I am able to work in a safe environment and they are a nationally accredited school.”
