The Livingston County Veterans Council has named its June Veteran of the Month.

John Dinkel is the latest to receive the honor.

Dinkel served in the US Army from 1966 to 1969, with a deployment to Vietnam from May 1967 to May 1968. His Military Occupational Specialty was that of a wheel vehicle mechanic, assigned to the 54th Signal Battalion Motor Pool.

Dinkel continues to serve through the Pinckney American Legion Memorial Unit 419.
