Hartland's annual Polo Classic returns this weekend, featuring live polo matches and other activities at Heritage Park on M-59.
"We have our VIP, super fun adult event on Saturday night. Fully-catered dinner. Custom bar. Hat contest. All the fun things that go along with a polo match like a DJ and dancing," says Emmalyn Wheaton, executive director of the Hartland Area Chamber of Commerce.
Tickets to the VIP party are $100 per person. Proceeds help benefit the chamber's scholarship program and community "giveback" programs, which benefits non-profits across Livingston County.
Sunday is family day, and Wheaton says it's free this year.
"Families can come in and enjoy a polo match, food trucks, a bounce house," she says. "The kids can make hats and be part of our halftime hat parade. There is a ton of fun crafts to do, all based around horses and polo. Of course, we have ice cream carts. And for mom and dad, we still have beer and wine at the bar."
Derby attire is encouraged for Polo Classic, but not required.
