Today marks “Giving Moose Day” - marking the anniversary of the first time that campers arrived at North Star Reach back in 2016.

North Star Reach in Putnam Township provides life-changing, year-round programs (at camp and remotely) for children with serious health challenges and their families, free of charge.

On July 1st, 2016; the non-profit welcomed its very first campers and volunteers to North Star Reach. Every year since, lives have been transformed at the 105-acre camp.

Giving Moose Day celebrates that legacy and helps build “a future full of camp magic”.

The goal is to raise $65,000 in 24 hours to provide 100 Camperships for children with serious health challenges and their families.

Thanks to a generous $600,000 matching gift from The Ted and Jane Von Voigtlander Foundation, every dollar donated will be doubled - meaning the impact goes twice as far.

There are also special incentives to thank donors for their generosity:

-For every $250 you donate, you’ll receive one (1) raffle entry for our Brown Paper Bag Raffle—five mystery gift bags filled with exclusive North Star Reach swag and surprise goodies.

-Join the Monthly Magic Makers Club as a recurring donor, and you’ll receive a bonus raffle entry.

-Donate $1,000 or more, and your name will be proudly displayed on the Giving Moose Day Donor Wall as a champion of camp magic.

There’s also a special raffle for fundraisers. Every fundraiser who meets or exceeds their goal of at least $1,300 (enough to fund two Family Camp Camperships) will receive one (1) raffle ticket for an exclusive Brown Paper Bag Raffle.

When people hit $1,300 or more, they’ll also be entered to win some “moose-tastic prizes”.

The non-profit says all gifts bring joy, create belonging, and build confidence – helping more campers and families make unforgettable memories.
