The Livingston County Veterans Council has named the August Veteran of the Month.

Sergeant Dennis Masterman served in the U.S. Army from 2003 to 2009. He was an Infantryman for six years, serving as a Sniper and completing two separate deployments in Iraq.

The Council says Masterman has continued to serve his community as Fowlerville Police Officer for the past three years.
