If you're sticking around town this Independence Day holiday weekend, there are plenty of things planned across the WHMI listening area to keep you busy.

One of those events is the return of Concerts at the Courthouse in downtown Howell this Friday evening. The band Sonic Freeway will headline the free concert, which is the first of nine planned Concerts at the Courthouse through August.

See the link below for Independence Day fireworks and parades.

Kensington Metropark invites families to explore the outdoors or cool off at the Splash 'n' Blast water slides and spray and play area.

There are also plenty of kayaking opportunities up and down the Huron River, along with local farmers markets and outdoor StoryWalks in downtown Howell, Brighton's Tridge, Oceola Community Center, Genoa Township Park, Village Trailhead in Whitmore Lake and Fowlerville's Centennial Park.
