Beginning at 7 am Wednesday, the Michigan Department of Transportation will close eastbound and westbound Grand River Avenue at I-96 and the westbound I-96 ramp (Exit 145) to westbound Grand River Avenue in Brighton for rebuilding.

The project is slated to run for approximately 50 days, ending on or around August 28.

This work is part of a $45 million investment to rebuild the I-96/Grand River Avenue interchange as a diverging diamond interchange. As part of the project, the two I-96 bridges over Grand River Avenue will be replaced this year and next.

Based on economic modeling, this $45 million investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 429 jobs.
