Lyon Township DDA and Oakland County Parks and Recreation are hosting an event this week to get out of the house and check out some local working vehicles.

The 3rd annual Touch a Truck is Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Lowes in New Hudson, located at 30547 Lyon Center Drive. Kids will have a chance to check out fire trucks, construction equipment and more. The first 300 kids will get a free goodie bag.

There will also be a rock wall, a DJ and food will be available for purchase. Those who want to go on the rock wall should wear closed toe shoes and socks.

Lyon Township DDA Director Amy Allen said the event is a great way for people to be able to see some of the vehicles that do essential days, but they don’t get to see up close.

The rain day for Touch a Truck is Thursday, May 26.
