Howell's Hidden Springs Church is hosting a free community resource fair both Friday and Saturday.

"There are about 35 different non-profits. It's free for the entire community, everyone in the county and beyond, to come and learn about how food pantries work, or how the American Red Cross can help with natural disaster relief. All of the in-depth services that some of the organizations such as Love Inc. and Habitat for Humanity, or LACAS offer," said Mary Vance, community outreach coordinator for Hidden Springs Church.

"We're just trying to break up the stigma around needing help," she added. "Our county is so abundant in giving people and organizations that are trying to help people. Being in this sector, I'm recognizing there's a big gap in people who say I heard about that, but I don't think I could use it."

American Red Cross also will host a blood drive from noon until 5:45 pm Friday in the church's youth room on the lower level.

"They are giving way free Cedar Fair (Cedar Point) tickets," said Vance. "If you've ever needed blood, you would know that it saved your life, most likely."

Meals On Wheels also will be on-hand, along with Gleaners Food Bank offering free food samples.

Hidden Springs Church is located off Latson Road in Howell.
