The Cromaine District Library's Summer Concert Series is returning for the 17th year in the Hartland community.

Four, family-friendly musical performances will be held on the Library’s South Lawn on Wednesday nights throughout the month of July.

The Beatles Tribute band Toppermost will kick-off the series on July 9th – with Hallboy BBQ and Kona Ice.

Director Sarah Neidert said "We can't wait for another wonderful summer filled with great bands and a chance to spend time with our community".

Cromaine’s Community Engagement Manager Liz Welch said they’re excited to kick off another season of summer sounds. She said “We’re thrilled to invite our friends and neighbors back to the South Lawn for a new year of music, memories, and family fun—made possible thanks to the incredible support of our sponsors!”

Welch told WHMI it’s a long running tradition – noting they were even able to put on the concerts during COVID. She described it as a “great big ole’ party” and for people who enjoy outdoor music or just want to get together with their neighbors and friends – “it can’t be beat”.

Welch said what’s also nice is that unlike some other outdoor concert venues, in the case of any inclement weather, they have the Historic Hartland Music Hall basically kitty-corner across from the Library and can move the concerts indoors.

The concerts typically draw around 400 people to Cromaine’s South Lawn - sometimes more. While there is plenty of parking, it can be tricky sometimes for those not familiar with the area. Welch said they will post on social media about all of the hidden gems for parking if it gets really busy to help people out.

Guests are invited to find their favorite spot on Cromaine’s South Lawn at 6:30pm; concerts begin at 7pm and continue until 8:30pm. Kids entertainment can be enjoyed each week. Dinner is also available for purchase; each evening will feature a different local food truck and Kona Ice will be on hand for an after-dinner treat.

The concerts are a family-friendly event, and attendees should bring lawn chairs or a blanket. Well behaved dogs are permitted, but must remain leashed on the lawn.

As earlier stated; in the event of inclement weather, concerts will relocate to the Historic Hartland Music Hall. Rain date decisions will be called by 5pm and people can watch for postings on Cromaine Library’s website and Facebook page.
