Two Flint men are hospitalized in critical condition following a rollover crash on southbound U.S. 23 early Monday morning.

According to the Livingston County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to a single-vehicle injury crash on southbound U.S. 23 north of Clyde Road around 5:46 am.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a 20-year-old driver lost control and left the roadway. The vehicle went into the ditch causing it to flip and roll several times. As the vehicle was rolling and flipping, both the driver and the 21-year-old passenger were ejected from the vehicle.

Both men were transported to the U of M in Ann Arbor by Livingston County EMS in critical condition. Neither was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Alcohol and speed appear be contributing factors in the crash. The roadway remained closed for two hours for the investigation and clean up.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by personnel from Hartland Fire Department, MDOT Curtesy Patrol, and Livingston County EMS.

The incident remains under investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff's Office Traffic Safety Bureau.
