The Ingham County Sheriff's Office reports a motorcyclist was critically injured as he tried to pass a truck making a left turn in Delhi Township Saturday afternoon.

It happened around 3:45 pm in the area of Eifert Road and McCue Road.

According to a release, the motorcyclist, a 22-year-old from Onondaga, was traveling north on Eifert Road as he tried to pass a large box truck that was starting to turn left into a driveway.

The unidentified rider was taken to a local hospital by ambulance for serious, life-threatening injuries. He was not wearing a helmet.

The driver of the box truck was not injured.

The Ingham Regional Crash Investigation Team was activated to assist.
