Some lengthy ramp closures will be starting up after the holiday weekend in Green Oak Township as part of the US-23 Flex Route project.

MDOT will begin the following ramp closures on Tuesday for paving:

-The southbound US-23 ramp to Lee Road
-The eastbound/westbound Lee Road ramp to southbound US-23

The closures start at 5am Tuesday, and will be in effect through June 17th.

MDOT advises the southbound US-23 ramp to Lee Road will be closed beginning at 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, until 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 17. Traffic heading for Lee Road will continue south on US-23, take Silver Lake Road Exit 55, and go north on Whitmore Lake Road to reach Lee Road.

The eastbound/westbound Lee Road ramp to southbound US-23 will be closed beginning at 5 a.m. Monday, June 9, until 7 p.m., Friday, June 13. Traffic will be detoured via southbound Whitmore Lake Road and Silver Lake Road to southbound US-23.

Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes.

The work is part of MDOT's ongoing $162 million investment to extend the US-23 Flex Route from north of 8 Mile Road to I-96.
