A Livingston County judge set bond at $500,000 for the suspect in an armed robbery of the Clyde Road Mobil station in Hartland Township earlier this month.

According to the sheriff's office, 29-year-old Dequan Currie of Flint, is charged with Armed Robbery, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Felony Firearms.

He was arraigned in the 53rd District Court on May 20, and remanded to the Livingston County Jail.

At approximately 3:25 am Friday, May 2, sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the Clyde Road Mobil near U.S. 23 on the report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.

The initial investigation revealed an unknown aged black male wearing all black clothing and a black facemask, produced a semi-automatic handgun and threatened the store employee forcing them to open the cash register.

After stealing an undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes the subject fled the area on foot.

On Monday May 5, detectives with the Livingston County Sheriff's Office, with the assistance of several Genesee County police agencies, identified Currie and into custody without incident.
