“Cornhole for a Cause” is returning next weekend to benefit LACASA – which provides help and hope for victims and survivors of child abuse, domestic violence, and sexual violence.
Players and teams are being sought for the second annual event that looks to be bigger and better than last year.
It will take place next Saturday, May 31st at Cleary University Commons in Genoa Township.
Community members and the public are encouraged to join in “an amazing afternoon of throwing bags and supporting one of our greatest local resources against interpersonal violence”.
Organizer Dan Brockway told WHMI LACASA is a cause that’s close to him and the event is a nice way to give back to the community.
There are multiple divisions for all skill levels from beginners to advanced and people of all ages and abilities can take part.
Last year’s event raised a little over $5,000 – which Brockway is hoping to double that this year if possible. He’s also hoping for a bigger turnout, with 75 to 200 teams.
Registration is open but people can also just show up on the day of the event.
