Authorities are investigating a trooper-involved shooting that took place Wednesday.
According to a post on X from MSP Third District, members of the Flint Area Narcotics Group served a search warrant around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday for a home in the 9000 block of River Grove Road in Montrose Township.
Troopers from the MSP Emergency Support Team assisted with the warrant.
When troopers announced their presence, a 49-year-old man reportedly opened the door with a shotgun.
Authorities said the man refused to drop the gun and was fatally shot by a trooper.
A 47-year-old woman was also shot by the trooper. She suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital where she is listed in stable condition.
Two other men were arrested and a minor was detained. None of them sustained injuries.
The trooper has been placed on leave.
The investigation is being conducted by the MSP 2nd District Special Investigation Unit and MSP Crime Lab.
According to the post, once the investigation is complete, all information, including video evidence, will be given to the Michigan Department of Attorney General.
