Just days into the new year, reports out of Washington continue, detailing laws signed in late 2023.

More than two-dozen provisions endorsed by U.S. Representative Elissa Slotkin were signed into law in late December as part of the 2024 National Defense Authorization Act.

Slotkin, a member of both the House Armed Services Committee and the NDAA Conference Committee, reportedly advocated for Michigan priorities through-out the process.

Slotkin says, "I am pleased that the bill preserves the bi-partisan spirit of the legislation my Armed Services Committee Colleagues and I passed this summer in a 58-1 vote. It is a firm rejection of attempts to use must-pass legislation as a vehicle for partisan priorities."

Provisions addressed stockpiling pharmaceuticals, expanding pharmaceutical manufacturing, restrictions on training foreign militaries, Chinese autonomous vehicles, and abortion rights for servicewomen.
