Progress is being made in restoring power to those in the dark and cleaning up debris following strong storms that hit overnight.

DTE Energy said crews were working as quickly and safely as possible to restore power to everyone impacted. It is estimated that 85% of customers affected will be restored by the end of the day today.

As of 4:50pm in Livingston County, 4,080 customers were without power; 10,493 in Oakland County; and 3,059 in Washtenaw County.

An earlier flood watch has since expired.

Crews with the Brighton Area Fire Authority were kept busy. Staff and neighboring departments responded to multiple incidents in Brighton Township including two structure fires, a gas leak, and wire and tree hazards. Only one minor injury was reported. Additionally, the department reported there were lots of flooded roadways and trees over the road.

There were also road closures reported in the Fowlerville area this morning and the Fire Department responded to multiple calls. Sharpe Road between Cemetery Road and Fowlerville High School was closed and not passable due to a large diameter tree down across the road that was also full of hornets.
