A road project with major traffic impacts is getting underway in Howell Township.

Work involves pavement overlay and shoulder gravel along a stretch of Burkhart Road from Grand River to Crandall Road.

The Livingston County Road Commission advises the project will be starting up tomorrow and is targeted for completion around Wednesday, May 4th – weather permitting.

The Road Commission cautions that there will be high traffic impact and motorists should expect major delays. Two-way traffic will be maintained through flag control.

Managing Director Steve Wasylk told WHMI the work involves the repaving that section of Burkhart Road with a two-and-a-half inch asphalt overlay. He said the project is part of their annual pavement preservation program, and they will be sharing the cost with Howell Township.
