A local non-profit that works to transform lives by building, affordable quality homes with families in need is celebrating World Habitat Day.

Livingston County Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope and will recognize World Habitat Day on Monday, October 2nd. On the first Monday of every October, Habitat for Humanity joins the United Nations and organizations from around the world in raising awareness, educating and mobilizing individuals and communities to take action on the current global housing crisis. Livingston County Habitat for Humanity will host a community event from 11am to 2pm at the Habitat ReStore on Grand River in Genoa Township. Volunteers will be on hand to serve hot dogs, chips and sodas while staff will be available to talk about the homeownership program as well as critical home repair programs. Local businesses will also have tables with information available to guests.
