The regional tournament brackets have been set in hockey, with two area teams getting No. 1 seeds. Brighton got the top seed in its Division 1 regional at Orchard Lake, and Howell got the No. 2 seed, earning both teams a first-round bye in the tournament. Hartland was seeded No. 1 at the Division 2 regional at Hartland. Pinckney was seeded third in its Division 3 regional at Chelsea.

Quarantines at Livonia Stevenson and Plymouth Salem have forced the KLAA to come up with a new plan for Wednesday’s scheduled crossovers between divisions. In addition, Brighton’s game with Salem has been canceled; the Bulldogs will play host to Novi tonight instead. The Eagles, who beat Livonia Franklin 8-0 on Saturday, travel to Howell tonight to meet the Highlanders, who beat Livonia Churchill 3-1 on Saturday. Pinckney edged Ann Arbor Skyline in overtime, 3-2.


In basketball over the weekend, Brighton's boys improved to 9-2 with a 65-62 win at Kalamazoo Loy Norrix. Owen Ehman had 19 points, Ryan Opre had 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Dallas Armstrong 15 points for the Bulldogs. Fowlerville improved to 9-2 behind 19 points from Brendan Young in a 62-44 win at Lakeland. Billy Hutchins added 18 points and Carter Young 14 for the Gladiators. Elsewhere, Pinckney’s boys beat Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard 57-37, while the girls lost to Ypsilanti Arbor Prep 82-17.
