In girls basketball, Hartland fell out of the top spot in this week’s Division 1 AP poll, dropping to No. 6 after a 41-33 loss at Brighton last week. The Bulldogs, who fell out of the poll last week, re-entered at No. 7. East Lansing moved back into the top spot. In Division 3, undefeated Byron is ranked third again this week. In this week’s boys poll, Williamston is once again No. 2 in Division 2.

On the boys side, Howell has a game at Northville tonight that will determine who’s on top in the KLAA West after the first half of the season. Both teams are 5-1 going into tonight’s matchup.

In other games tonight, Salem is at Brighton while Hartland is at Novi, Pinckney is at Dexter and Fowlerville is at Stockbridge , with the girls playing at the visitor’s home school. In a doubleheader, Charyl Stockwell is at Livingston Christian.


Two local athletes announced their college intentions on Monday. Brighton wrestler Greyson Stevens announced on Twitter he has committed to Northern Illinois, while Howell’s Maegan Tucker has committed to play basketball at Hope College. Both made their announcements on Twitter.
