LANSING, Mich. — Nearly 6,300 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases have been reported in Michigan. The state Department of Health and Human Services reports 6,290 daily cases and 145 deaths Tuesday due to the virus. Fifty-one of those deaths were added following a review of vital records. Michigan has more than 320,500 confirmed virus cases and 8,688 deaths due to COVID-19 since the start of the coronavirus pandemic earlier this year. State Rep. Kyra Harris Bolden Tweeted Tuesday that she has received a positive COVID-19 test. At least nine lawmakers have tested positive this year while a 10th died from a suspected case.
