Department: Department of Public Works

Job Statues: Full time hourly and non-exempt at will status per PA 349, union position

Reports To: DPW Foreman

Shift: 7a-3:30p.

Comprehensive benefits package: Health, Dental and Vision Insurance, paid time off, holiday and 401A

Starting Pay: Base $18.54 with annual increases on a 5-year scale

Special Experience & Education

High School diploma or GED

Clean and Valid Driver’s License

Must be legally able to work in the U.S.

Ability to read and interpret written instructions, manuals diagrams and schematics

Current and valid State of Michigan CDL (B) Driver License (Air Brake Endorsement)

Job Responsibilities & Overview

Operation and maintenance of wide variety of equipment. (Backhoes, dump trucks, snow plows, tractors, lawn mowers etc.) Employee will be responsible for street maintenance, building maintenance and general construction including park and trail maintenance and landscaping for a variety of cit owned properties. Employees must be able to work rotating weekend shifts as well as on-call schedule and be physically able to perform all job duties.
